What's New at Community Action
Beginning with the 2015-2016 Winter utility season the State of Alabama now mandates the use of the standard no income Form 125 for all NO INCOME statements. For each household member 18 and older declaring "no income' a no income Form 125 must be filled out. Please click on the BELOW LINK and print Form 125 or visit one of our offices to request a form. Hand written statements will NO LONGER be accepted.

Community Action was awarded $120,500 in Emergency Solutions Grant funds through the City of Florence as part of a federal grant through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. The funds will assist homeless and at-risk of homeless to obtain or maintain shelter.
The Responsible Fatherhood & Parenting was awarded $110,000 in DHR funds through the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention. The Program will address parenting skills for men and couples to strengthen the family unit to prevent child abuse and neglect. The program will assist clients with case management supportive services such as shelter, short-term skills training, and employment.
The Mothers Parenting Program was awarded $18,000 in Children First funds through the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention and was equally matched through local county governments. The Mothers Program works exclusively with women in gaining parenting skills and seeks to prevent child abuse and neglect through intensive training and case management
