Gerald Williams Cooperative Garden Program
Free vegetable seeds, plants and fertilizer are provided to help qualifying local residents wishing to grow their own gardens

To participate in the program applicants must:
- reside in Lauderdale/Colbert or Franklin Counties
- must not exceed gross monthly income as defined
Maximum income of $1,436 for single household
two-person households - $1,938
three-persons - $2,441
For each additional person in the household add $502 per month

Back To Work Initiative
Effective January 10, 2014 important changes to consumer loans will take place. HUD Mortgagee Letter 2013-26 describes the Back to Work Initiative regarding housing counseling and homeownership education requirements. In addition, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection has issued instructions for lenders regarding homeownership counseling under the Frank-Dodd Act and for federally related loan applicants.
We are pleased to inform you Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, Inc. has been a HUD approved Housing Counseling Agency since year 2000. We currently employ 4 certified, and HUD approved, Housing Counseling staff serving Lauderdale, Colbert and Franklin Counties.
Fee services for households actively seeking to obtain a loan. All other housing counseling services please contact the Housing Counselor in your county of residence.

Clients must schedule an appointment for all housing counseling and homeownership education classes. Prior payment for services required, PayPal only. No refunds. Certificates issued upon completion. Lunch provided with Homeownership Class.
