About Us
Who We Are
Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, Inc. is a private non-profit corporation. Incorporated under the law of the State of Alabama March 19, 1965 and organized for the purpose of planning, developing and administering programs and services designed to help eliminate poverty and encourage self-sufficiency.
We are conveniently located in Franklin, Colbert and Lauderdale Counties to serve the residents of each county. In April 2008 Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama was designated by the Governor of Alabama, Bob Riley, as a Family Resource Center. Our service area includes: Franklin, Colbert, and Lauderdale counties.
Our Vision
We view ourselves, the Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, Inc. as a unified, results oriented, community services partnership committed to increasing economic justice among the people who live in our community. We will accomplish this vision through a capable, dedicated, and compassionate staff implementing carefully chosen programs which reduce the causes and adverse consequences of poverty and increase the self-sufficiency of those being served.
